Linda Royster Beito is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute and Professor of Social Sciences at Stillman College.  She received her M.S. in Criminal Justice and Ph.D. in Political Science from The University of Alabama.   Dr. Beito has served as a Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Associate Dean, and Chair of the Department of Social Sciences at Stillman College as well as Assistant Professor of Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of South Alabama.
Professor Beito is the author of the book, Leadership Effectiveness in Community Policing, and her scholarly articles have appeared in Social Science History, Journal of Firearms and Public Policy, The Independent Review, Nevada Historical Society Quarterly, History News Network, International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice, and elsewhere.  She received numerous awards with the most recent being the Best Female Faculty Award for 2018.
